This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to take a moment to reach out to the farmers and land managers of the Isle of Wight — the people who work hard every day to feed us, care for our countryside and keep our rural communities alive.
Farming can be incredibly rewarding, but it’s no secret that it also brings stress, isolation, financial pressure and long hours — and too often, mental health takes a back seat.
You are not alone
Whether you’re struggling with your workload, family pressures, money worries, or just feeling low — there is support out there and talking really can help.
Need to talk?
Farming Community Network (FCN) – 03000 111 999
RABI Wellbeing Support – 0800 188 4444
YANA (You Are Not Alone) – 0300 323 0400
Or speak to someone you trust — a neighbour, friend, adviser, or vet
At Wight Rural Hub, we’re here to support the whole person behind the business. If you don’t know where to turn, drop us a line — we’ll always listen and help signpost where we can.
Let’s keep looking out for each other. A quick chat over a cuppa, a text to check in, or an offer to lend a hand can make a big difference.
Take care of yourself. And don’t be afraid to ask for help — it’s a sign of strength, not weakness.
