Spring is Coming – Temporary Campsites and Permitted Development Rights

Wight Rural Hub are bringing Isle of Wight farmers and land owners a series of feature articles, written by advisors. We are delighted that the CLA have agreed to be the first and have set the bar so high for future articles. If you are an advisor and would like to write an article for the Island’s rural community, or an Island farmer or landowner with an idea for an article; please let us know.

The article details amendments to Permitted Development Rights (PDRs) for the temporary use of land for camping. ‘Temporary Recreational Campsites’, known as Class BC, which enables the use of any land as a recreational campsite for 60 days per calendar year for no more than 50 pitches. Providing a welcome option for many rural businesses that are looking to diversify following the removal of BPS.
