Wight Rural Hub May Newsletter
May 6, 2026

May has arrived in full swing and while many of you are firmly in the thick of spring work, it’s also a key moment to take stock of the opportunities ahead.

A date we strongly encourage you to prioritise is our Scheme Update Meeting – Grants & Funding Opportunities on 4 June at 18:30. We’ve deliberately timed this event to coincide with the upcoming SFI announcement, following today’s “Get ready to apply for SFI26” update published on the The Farming Blog. Initial information on the SFI26 scheme is now live on GOV.UK for those who may be eligible to apply in Window 1, making this an especially important moment to get up to speed.

We’re bringing together trusted partners to give clear, practical updates on Capital Grants, SFI, FiPL and private funding opportunities. This session is designed to cut through the noise and help you understand what’s available, what’s coming and how it could work for your business. If you’re considering investment, diversification, or simply want to stay informed, this will be a valuable evening, make sure you book your place.

Closer to home, a quick reminder that the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) deadline has been extended to midday on 12 May. If you’ve been thinking about applying, this is your window to act.

There’s plenty more to get involved with over the coming weeks, with a packed list of dates for your diary covering events and opportunities across the Island. We’re also pleased to share an update from the Isle of Wight Young Farmers’ Club, highlighting the energy, skills and community spirit amongst the next generation.

As always, Wight Rural Hub is here to keep you informed, connected and supported, so do take a few minutes to explore what’s on offer this month.
