Changes to permitted development rights come into effect from 21 May. The Town and Country Planning Amendment Order (General Permitted Development, etc) 2024, makes changes to 4 existing permitted development rights that allow for agricultural development and the use change of agricultural buildings.
From 21 May, farmers will no longer be required to submit a planning application for specific types of development. This includes converting agricultural buildings to a wider range of commercial uses, such as larger farm shops, buildings for agricultural training and sporting facilities.
